How to decide on hair extension length?
Use the Hair Extension Length Guide to get an approximate length for ordering your hair extensions. Please note that the hair is always measured in a complete straighten state. Therefore curly hair will be shorter than straight hair but it has more volume for the same weight. The length of wavy hair lies in between the straight and curly.
What is virgin hair?
Refers to hair that is completely unprocessed, and intact. To qualify as virgin hair, it must meet rigorous standards including: not been permed, dyed, colored, bleached, chemically processed in any way. This also means it comes from a single donor, and all the cuticles are intact, running in the same direction.
Is virgin hair the same as human hair?
Virgin hair is chemically unprocessed human hair, which is collected from a single donor (the donor could be Indian, Malaysian, Brazilian, etc). The virgin hair is remy hair that has not been altered by dyes, perms, bleaches, or harsh washes.
What is Remy hair?
High quality “remy” is collected directly from a woman's head and has been cut while in a ponytail, from a single donor, and is the full length of the strands. This collection process guarantees that the cuticles will stay aligned and the end result will be pure remy hair.
What is weaving?
Also known as a sew-in-weave, weaving is a commonly used method of installing hair extensions by sewing tracks of hair directly to your cornrows.
Can the weft be cut?
Our wefts are not meant to be cut. If you need to cut your weft you must seal the ends so that hair will not shed from the cut end of the weft.
How many bundles do I need?
Inches 12-16 we suggest 2-3 bundles for a full sew in.
Inches 18-28 we suggest 3-4 bundles for a full sew in.
After sewing in a weave, how long should I have it in before removing it?
Your own natural hair will grow about 1 to 1½ inches every 8 to 12 weeks, so depending on how long you leave it in for, you may need to tighten it or remove it as you desire. For high quality hair, you may have it removed to wash and restore, and then get it weaved in again.
Can I swim while wearing a weave?
Yes, you may go swimming in a pool, but we recommend applying a hydrating/moisturizing conditioner to the hair before and after entering the pool to avoid tangling. We also recommend making one or two large braids to keep your hair in place to further avoid tangling.
If you plan to swim in the ocean, we recommend wearing a swimming cap because the ocean’s salt water can be harsh. We also recommend washing and conditioning the hair as soon as you are done swimming.
Can the hair be straightened or curled?
Your new virgin hair extensions can be treated as if it is your own hair. You are able to use a thermal (hot) tool to straighten, curl, crimp, etc. Keep in mind the hair does not have all the nutrients that a strand growing from your scalp will. Heat damage can cause breakage and dryness. Therefore, it is imperative that you use a heat-protecting product, always co-wash your hair, and protect it during sleep hours.
How do I sleep with my weave on?
Loosely braid or twist your weave, and wrap the hair in a satin scarf or bonnet before going to bed to keep the hair from tangling overnight.
What does density mean in a wig?
Density is defined as how thick or thin the hair on your lace wig will be. The standard and most popular choice is 120% which is Medium Thick Density. The average human head is considered to be between 100%-120%. Hair Density Chart
Is the wigs made of 100% human hair?
YES. All of our lace wigs are made of 100% Remy human hair and you can treat it as your own hair.
What is the difference between a Lace Front Wig and a Full Lace Wig?
Lace Front Wigs
The main difference between these two kinds of wigs lies in the material used for the base. A lace front wig uses a sheer lace base for the front portion of the wig. In some lace front wigs, the lace covers the front half of the wig while in others, the lace is only used for a couple of inches. The rest of the base is made of a thicker but still comfortable material.
Lace front wigs look very natural towards the front because the lace is almost invisible. The hair can be parted in the middle or on the sides. Also lace front wigs are attached to your head with an adhesive only along your hairline above your forehead.
Full Lace WigsFull lace wigs, on the other hand, come with a base that is made entirely of lace. The lace material essentially covers the whole head even all the way to the back. Because of this, full lace wigs are more versatile because you can also style them into up-dos, braids, and many other hairstyles that are not possible with a front lace wig.
Can I curl or straighten my human hair wig?
Yes, you can curl or straighten a human hair wig to achieve the styles you desire. Before using heat styling tools, please use a heat protectant spray on the hair to prevent hair damage from the heat.
How often should I wash my human hair wig?
We would suggest washing your wig every 10-14 days. The wash cycle also depends on each individual according to how often the wig is worn, what products were applied to the wig, etc.
What is the best way to store a wig?
A wig stand or mannequin is ideal. It will help keep the hair from becoming tangled and will help to maintain shape. Also, see if you can find a cool, dry spot to keep wigs in the best condition.
Whats the difference between a silk closure and a lace closure?
Which is better? The silk closure has 2 layers: the Swiss lace and then a silk fabric on top. The hairs are then individually woven through the silk fabric and secured under the lace. The hairs coming through the silk fabric give the appearance of a scalp. The lace is the same thing without the silk fabric. Individual hairs are woven and secured directly through the lace. There isnt a concrete answer of which is better than the other, it is totally YOUR personal preference.
